About me

I am Bram.
I have a lifelong passion for video games and digital media and have been following developments in these fields closely for over fifteen years now.

After finishing my Media & Culture – Digital media studies, with a particular focus on video games in my curriculum, I started working at the Dutch Film Fund. I have been working there in the e-culture, animation and experimental field and therefore have gained a profound understanding of how these (digital) media work.

Dutch Film Fund

#WORK
At the Filmfund, I've been working in several different programmes, like the Experimental Film & Transmedia as well as the Animation Department. Amongst other things, I implemented a project database facilitating the shift from analog to digital application at the Film Fund and organised a few premieres and film events as well.

#EDUCATION
In the interdisciplinary bachelor programme of Media & Culture
I chose Digital Media as my specialization. Within this curriculum I laid my focus mostly on videogame related courses. I wrote my bachelor's thesis on Virtual Labor, with a case study in the Second Life virtual world. I minored in American Studies.
Transmedia Next

# 3-DAY COURSE - LONDON, UK
In this London-based transmedia course, the whole transmedia production process is dissected and talked through by some of the most influential lecturers in Transmedia today, like Lance Weiler, Nick Fortugno, Anita Ondine and Paula le Dieu.
Database / BI

Quest - Database Implementation (Dublin, IE)
I learned the fundamentals on blueprinting an organisation and translating it into a workflow driven database system. I´ve put this knowledge into practise with implementing a new database system for the Film Fund.

SAP Crystal Reports Enterprise (NL)
An expert training in designing queries and building reports in this Business Intelligence tool.

My Skillset

Public Funding

I have nearly 6 years of experience in the public funding of transmedia, animation and experimental media production. I´ve gained an overview of all Dutch projects in these fields and the productional, political and financial side of these projects.
Webdesign / CMS

I have designed several websites in the Wordpress(.org), DRUPAL and Apostrophe Symfony-formats.Therefore I am really familiar with the possibilities of Content Management Systems.
Databases

I implemented a project database facilitating the shift from analog to digital application processing. In this project I was able to put my technical as well as my design and usability skills to good use.
Videogames

With a lifelong experience in playing videogames, keeping a close eye on the industry and theorizing videogames in college, I consider myself a videogames expert.
